Recently took up knitting. Frustrated. Looking for some instruction. Any classes around? Free?

    • Jorah says:

Steve, I’m sure that you can find classes somewhere near you, but I doubt that you’ll find anything for free. However, many people have been able to learn by studying the endless number of videos on YouTube. I also recommend KnittingHelp.com, which has excellent tutorials and videos. Find several local yarn shops and drop in on their open knitting nights. If you are friendly and not too needy, you can probably get someone to answer questions for you! Good luck, and I hope you stick with it. I’ve been knitting for almost 5 years now and it keeps holding my interest!

Thanks. Yeh..I am doing the knit stitch and it may be that the yarn is cheap. Keeps on wanting to de-cord ( If that makes sense) I have checked some of the videos but will check out the knittinghelp.com just not a consistent stich. Looks like a rabid beaver’s been gnawing on my “scarf”!!

I’ve been looking for a group like this! I live in Mint Hill, and will be retiring next year…so I’ll finally have some “fun” time! Do I need to notify anyone that I want to attend August meeting?

  6. Hello! I didn’t even know Charlotte had a knitting guild! Would love to join. Obviously, I’ve missed the February meeting. Do you know yet where the March meeting will be held?
I look forward to your response. Hope to meet you all soon!

  7. Tammy Diener says:

    Hey There,
I am interesting in coming to your meeting and joining the guild. However, I will not be able to go to the retreat in March. Is there any information about April’s meeting. I an really looking forward to get involved! Also I am a spinner and crocheter. Do spinners come to the meeting? Would a wheel be welcome?

    Thanks, Tammy

      Tammy–
We are temporarily homeless and have been rotating our meeting location each month, I’ll send out an update when we have the plans for March 5 finalized. You may not want to bring your wheel until we are settled into a more permanent meeting space. We’ve been meeting at different yarn shops and the space can be tight. We look forward to meeting you!
