Charlotte Knitting Guild Meeting, Tuesday, May 1 @ 6:00 pm
Knitters go Uptown!
Grab some knitting and join us on Saturday, June 16 for World Wide Knit in Public Day. We’ll be heading uptown by light rail, bus, car, bike or foot. From Noon to 2 p.m., visit one of these knitting hotspots—Mint Museum, The Green, Wells Fargo (formerly Wachovia) Plaza, Founders Hall, or the Main Branch of the Public Library. Then from 2-3 p.m., we’ll gather at the Public Library for our grand finale with door prizes, the swap table and games.
Excellence in Knitting
Bring your submissions for the Excellence in Knitting event!
We’ll be voting for the Board of Directors this month if we can get a quorum. We are still seeking nominees for vice-president and secretary. Enthusiasm is important… experience is something you’ll gain, and current and former board members will help you learn.
Board meetings are minimal. We typically conduct a lot of business by email. We particularly need energetic, creative and organized people. Shape the guild into being the group you want!
Talk with any of the current or former board members for more insight into what involvement looks like.
We are losing our meeting space!
After a long and excellent relationship with Providence Baptist Church, they, unfortunately, will no longer be able to host our meetings. We have already started searching for new space, so if you have solid leads on meeting facilities, contact any board member to discuss your idea. We think that we have some viable options, but we’d hate to overlook any leads.
Directions and Meeting Info
We meet the first Tuesday night of every month at Providence Baptist Church, 4921 Randolph Rd, 28211 from 6 – 8 pm The first half hour is knitting and socializing, the rest of the time is dedicated to learning new things. If you have completed a project since the last meeting, consider bringing the finished object with you for show-and-tell!
